Annnnnd that’s a wrap!

Today was the last day of work for both Amanda Ross and I.

Whoa….

This is getting real.

It feels good to be done. I’ll definitely be missing all my friends at 2Advanced Studios though. It’s a little bittersweet.

Here’s a photo that shows our current feelings.

One week away…!!

One week away…!!

7 days and counting! Wow, I would just like to mention these last few days have been a blur!! Ryder was away this past weekend to say goodbye to his family in San Luis Obispo and Lompoc. I was sad I couldn’t make it, but had a few wonderful visits with my close family here in Sacramento. He came back on Sunday and boom, we hit the ground running!

Yesterday was last minute dentist appointments to get those pearly whites all cleaned up, I received my Typhoid vaccine and visited the doc for a cough and ichy throat. Go figure, I decide to get allergies the week before we leave (for those of you who don’t know, I’ve NEVER had allergies before). We also stopped at Target to get a watch for Ryder and REI to make a dent in our “to purchase” list.

Today we are working on our plans for August. I’m researching places to stay in Barcelona, Spain while Ryder is trying to switch over my phone number to his Blackberry. Tonight we will be visiting family and then its back off to REI tomorrow for more gear. We still have quite a bit left on our To-do list, but I’m confident we can get it done before this weekend so we can have a little break before we leave for Boston on Wednesday.

Here’s a picture of what we have so far. As you can see, we’ve taken over the living room.

Two weeks…

Jul 01

A little over two weeks away and we’ll be setting foot on the first part of our worldly travels!

What?!? Only two weeks left??

Man, time flew by faster than we expected. We’re not ready to leave quite yet, but I’m not sure you can ever be totally ready to travel like we’re going to.

As of now, these are the plans we have set in stone.

July 18th – Sacramento -> Boston
July 24th – Boston -> Iceland

What, you say? Not a lot set in stone, you say? Well you’re right.

Part of this trip is going to be planned but a decent portion will be unplanned. We’re going to ask for and take a lot of advice from other travelers and people we meet along the way.

Our plan right now, which is totally subject to change, is to hop over to the UK after Iceland and have fun there until we can meet up with the parents of one of my best friends in Ireland at the end of August.

Well, that’s it for now. Gotta get plannin’!
