We’re on our way!

Jul 18

We’re on our way!

We’ve successfully made it to the Sac airport and are waiting to board our first flight. We have a layover at LAX for 40 minutes then a long flight to Boston.

It was a little hard to sleep last night, for both of us, because we were so excited (and nervous) to start this trip. I didn’t want to be a story where a couple plans this huge trip and then some accident happens while getting to the airport. So, I’m stoked we’re here and on time! 🙂

Amanda’s dad dropped us off. There were lots of hugs and tears here and when we said good bye to our mothers as well.

Amanda ended up switching from her big backpack to a rolling suitcase early this morning. We both feel better knowing that the 5 bulging discs in her neck won’t be causing any problems. Just hope we don’t break a wheel.

After Boston and Cape Elizabeth, ME we’ll be on our way to Iceland. Wish us luck!

Annnnnd that’s a wrap!

Today was the last day of work for both Amanda Ross and I.

Whoa….

This is getting real.

It feels good to be done. I’ll definitely be missing all my friends at 2Advanced Studios though. It’s a little bittersweet.

Here’s a photo that shows our current feelings.

Two weeks…

Jul 01

A little over two weeks away and we’ll be setting foot on the first part of our worldly travels!

What?!? Only two weeks left??

Man, time flew by faster than we expected. We’re not ready to leave quite yet, but I’m not sure you can ever be totally ready to travel like we’re going to.

As of now, these are the plans we have set in stone.

July 18th – Sacramento -> Boston
July 24th – Boston -> Iceland

What, you say? Not a lot set in stone, you say? Well you’re right.

Part of this trip is going to be planned but a decent portion will be unplanned. We’re going to ask for and take a lot of advice from other travelers and people we meet along the way.

Our plan right now, which is totally subject to change, is to hop over to the UK after Iceland and have fun there until we can meet up with the parents of one of my best friends in Ireland at the end of August.

Well, that’s it for now. Gotta get plannin’!
